Learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
From a World Champion.
Learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from a world champion in Dallas, Oregon. Technical, honest training built to work against resisting opponents. Beginners are welcome, and every class is coached with intention.
Most people never get the chance to learn from a world champion. In Polk County, you can. Daniel Priebe is a 3rd-degree black belt and world champion with nearly 30 years on the mats, starting as a high school wrestler. He teaches every class with the same standard he competed with: technical, honest, and built to work against resisting opponents.
Whether you're stepping on the mat for the first time or chasing your next stripe, Daniel Priebe Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the home for serious, welcoming BJJ training in Dallas, Oregon and the surrounding communities of Monmouth, Independence, Falls City, Rickreall, and West Salem.
Built for beginners. Respected by competitors.
Your first class won't feel like being thrown in the deep end. We'll pair you with experienced partners, walk you through the fundamentals, and teach you the positions that matter most: guard, mount, side control, back control, and how to escape each one. Just bring comfortable athletic clothes and water. You don't need any experience, and you don't need to be in shape. That's what training is for.
Competitors get world-class detail: tournament strategy, guard systems, leg locks, takedowns, and hard, smart rounds with training partners who push each other.
Gi and No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu
We train both. Gi jiu-jitsu builds patience, grips, and technical precision. No-Gi sharpens speed, scrambles, and the skills that carry directly into wrestling and MMA. Training both makes you a complete grappler.
Why train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
- Real self-defense. Control a larger, stronger person without strikes, using leverage and timing.
- Fitness that doesn't feel like a workout. Build strength, cardio, and flexibility through live training.
- Confidence under pressure. Learn to stay calm in uncomfortable positions and everyday life.
- A real community. Train alongside families, first responders, students, and working adults from across Polk County.
Train where the champions train
Our academy features a full mat space and a pit wall for wall work, takedowns, and getting back to your feet. These are skills most BJJ gyms in the Willamette Valley never teach.
